Forty-three participants of the Inspired Vision Retreat were invited to contribute a piece to this group mandala project. Each person was given a piece and assigned a color. They printed the piece, filled it with color and form and incorporated their word-for-the-year into their design.
When I started creating these “community mandalas” it was to bring our group closer together and illustrate how there is a place for everyone. I love that you don’t have to be an “artist” or believe that you are creative to fit into this project.
What word will inspire you as you navigate the opportunities and challenges that are showing up for you? For participants in the workshop we played with words until we found the one that spoke to each of us. A compass design brings together all of the words to help us individually and as a group to live an inspired life.
This is a powerful symbol of faith and hope.

I have never seen a community mandala before and this is just amazing. I love having pieces from all those mandala friends whose work I so admire all in one place. I think I will print this out to look at for inspiration. It’s like the whole community is there with me!

This is gorgeous! I’m working on my own big mandala right now. 30″ x 30″. I did a community mandala for my church that was 3′ x 3′ and it inspired me to try out a big one on my own! I’m still slowly working on my 100 mandala challenge, but haven’t managed to post much with the group lately. That doesn’t mean I’m not thinking about you guys.
