January Mandala Challenge: Mandala Inspiration Wheel

I’m delighted to announce a new series to inspire your muse called the Monthly Mandala Challenge. Look for a video each month that introduces the theme, contest details, and the prizes. Project Theme for January: Mandala Inspiration Wheel One day while looking at my wall on Facebook, I noticed a really cool video clip of a fidget spinner whirring above a hand-painted mandala with the question, “What gift can you give yourself more of today?” The possible answers delighted my heart – ease, novelty, play, stillness, rest, adventure… I clicked through to my friend Tonia Jenny’s Facebook wall and saw that she had created some other Fidget Spinner Fortunes that posed more heart expanding questions and answers. What can you give yourself more of this week? What will support your dreams today? What is your soul asking for? I’m a DIY kinda gal and thought, I want to make one! But wait, I’d love to see what my mandala family would create. I reached out to Tonia and she generously offered to be the first …

100 Mandalas Compass Rose

Forty-three participants of the Inspired Vision Retreat were invited to contribute a piece to this group mandala project. Each person was given a piece and assigned a color. They printed the piece, filled it with color and form and incorporated their word-for-the-year into their design. When I started creating these “community mandalas” it was to bring our group closer together and illustrate how there is a place for everyone. I love that you don’t have to be an “artist” or believe that you are creative to fit into this project. What word will inspire you as you navigate the opportunities and challenges that are showing up for you? For participants in the workshop we played with words until we found the one that spoke to each of us. A compass design brings together all of the words to help us individually and as a group to live an inspired life. This is a powerful symbol of faith and hope. Want to participate in the next Community Mandala Project? Exclusive invitations will be sent to the participants of the …

Hamsa Prayer Flag Peace Project

Hamsa Prayer Flag Peace Project

Ten hamsa images designed by members of the 100 Mandalas Community were selected for this special prayer flag project. Each of these flags were colored by the artist and while they were working on them infused them with the intentions of goodwill and peace. May all who hang and enjoy these prayer flags receive our blessings. About the Hamsa Symbol The hamsa is a familiar symbol of the open palm that traditionally represents protection when the fingers are pointing upward and as a symbol of blessings when the palm is open and the fingers are pointing downward. Since the symbol of the hand is shared among many faiths including Jewish, Muslim, and Christians, the hamsa has become a symbol of peace in the Middle East. About Prayer Flags Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags do not carry prayers to gods, which is a common misconception; rather, the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into …
